San Fabrizio: Little Cinque Terre
San Fabrizio: Little Cinque Terre
San Fabrizio Neighborhood was built on what was once a hilly peninsula extending from the Darsena, that is the Dock area of the Neighborhood Monumental – Monte. From a simple, uninhabited peninsula, and with urban expansion in all directions planned by the City Government, it was decided to create a village in a style reminiscent of Ligurian towns.
The buildings were kept moderate in size and largely uniform, with streets climbing the hill and then descending toward the sea. The result is a slightly claustrophobic yet highly picturesque village, unique in every detail.
The neighborhood’s name also comes from the fact that, during its construction, I listened extensively to the music of Fabrizio De André.
